Who is Jesus?

Who is Jesus Christ?
When we want to know the Meaning of Life, upon pondering the Purpose of life, or ask the Question “Why am I alive?”, we will invariably be led to consider Jesus. People say many things about him. Most will agree he is a good man. Some say that he had good teachings. Most who say this have never read the Bible, because the story in the Bible is quite different, being "good" is not the point.

The story in the Bible is that mankind is at enmity with God and alienated from God. The story in the Bible is that a person died on the cross, but not just anyone. The Word of God became a man, a sinless man, that He might die for the sins of all mankind. This make peace between God and man. The story in the Bible is that Jesus Christ died, was buried, and was raised from the dead on the third day. The story in the Bible is that 500 people saw Him after his resurrection. The story in the Bible is that, to be right with God, people must humble themselves and turn their hearts to God. The story in the Bible is true, consistent, and reliable. So when a heart turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away, man’s sins are forgiven, the barrier keeping man from God is removed, and man (a person) has access to God, God sends His Spirit into our hearts, He regenerates us to be children of God, and He strengthens us to walk in the pattern of Christ.

Have you ever picked up a Bible and read the story of Jesus yourself? If you are seeking the truth, then you must include the gospels, the life and teaching of Jesus, in your search. Some say it is fiction. If it were fiction, then how come my life is changed? If it is just “religion”, how come it changes hearts? Even my atheist father said “I will admit it, Christians have something I don’t have”. And it is all based on one person. In all of human history Jesus Christ is unique above all others.
He made the Father known to man, he gave himself to die on the cross to satisfy mankind’s debt of sin to God, he raised from the dead as proof, and he sends the Holy Spirit into our hearts to makes us Sons of God like him.

Isaiah said “His name shall be called Wonderful”.  He was right, Jesus’ name is Wonderful!
The quickest, easiest way to know about Jesus is to read about him in the New Testament. The gospel of John is a good place to start, and you can believe what you read because you are reading a firsthand eyewitness account.  1 John 1:3 says “That which we have seen and heard, we report also to you… and these things we write”. Luke 1:2-3 says “those who from the beginning became eyewitnesses and ministers of the word have delivered them to us, it seemed good to me also, having carefully investigated all things from the first, to write them out for you in an orderly fashion”. More than any other book, the Bible is reliable.
